Kawana Automatics can often repair your vehicle within 24hrs, We specialize in all makes and models including the large range of European vehicles that we see in the Australian market. With a large amount of stock on hand and majority of parts available overnight we can have you back on the road as soon as possible. Many transmissions suffer from minor problems such as solenoid or sensor failure even faulty connections or simply low battery voltage can cause problems. The replacement of a broken band or faulty clutch plate maybe all you need to have that transmission working again.

Diagnosing electrical faults
With the latest diagnostic equipment on hand we can connect to your vehicle to read fault codes and give you an accurate quote for the repair or replacement of that faulty part causing you all that grief. It may not be a painful as you think to repair. Relearn procedures can also be carried out, returning your transmission to the correct shift timing and pattern that is expected.
Overhauls & reconditioning
All major overhauls and reconditioning are carried out in our workshop, with the facilities to completely replace all damaged and worn components of the most modern transmission. Engineering of damaged cases and hard parts can also be repaired to OE (ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT) standards.We pride ourselves on the ability to have your vehicle shifting as good as new. As with the majority of Reconditioned Transmissions all electronically controlled shift solenoids and sensors are replaced, we offer a 2yr/40,000kms warranty on all our reconditioned units.
Exchange torque converters
Torque converters are a sealed unit that cannot be inspected properly unless completely dismantled, we can have your torque converter inspected or overhauled within 2 -3days. We carry a range of exchange units that can be replaced on short notice, it keeps our workshop running with regular replacements arriving overnight. Torque converters in today’s modern vehicles are quite sophisticated and need specialized attention when being overhauled.
Transmission service kits for sale
Transmission service kits are available for sale if owners are willing to get their hands dirty. We strongly recommend though that with the service requirements being used with late-model vehicles it is safer to have a specialist carry out your service for you.One mistake made working on these unit can sometimes cost you much more than the price of the kit you just purchased.
Oil cooler assembly on sale & fitted to vehicle.
Oil cooler assemblies are a very important part of our business, whether you tow a large caravan or boat the most common cause of transmission failure is overheating. The fitting of a good quality cooler can add years to the life of your transmission, it also can extend the time between service intervals as the oil quality can stay at a higher level for longer periods of time. There are many different sizes coolers available and the correct fitting of these units is important to keep oil cooler flowing in the correct direction.
General under body vehicle servicing (transfer case oils and diff oils replaced)
As with all our transmission servicing we can also attend to your drive line oil replacement in transfer cases and differentials. It is important to keep up to date as lack of servicing these components can cause all sorts of problems especially with Limited slip Diffs that can cause the feeling of chattering when turning sharply, Once diff oil loses its viscosity these problems can occur.
Power steering
Kawana Automatics also specialize in the repair and reconditioning of all power steering racks, steering boxes and pumps, we carry many seal kits for the rekitting of these items.Steering racks are a common problem with minor oil leaking from tower seals and hoses, these parts are readily available for replacement. We carry a large range of different model hoses and a lot of power steering complaints usually are quite easy to repair. Power steering pumps can usually be resealed with same day service provided.Steering rack ends and tie-rod ends can replaced with-out the removal of your complete rack.
